Calgary Expo day 3
Today was all sorts of fucking EPIC.
dammit half the pics i'm trying to email to myself aren't WORKING. grr.
First off, Notanee, you'll be so mad. haha I got an ORIGINAL (used) c3po. like the one I had when I was a kid. He falls apart like in the movies too!

Okay. So I tried to sleep last night, you'd think I'd have crashed forever. nope. up at fckin 6. 6!!! nodded off til about 8 or so. Got ready, chilled out, and drove the car to teh hotel. Originally we were going to just keep the car here overnight but that's another story.
Got my Timmies and saw Crack Macs (LOL apparently this is a somewhat famous Mac's store across the street. Hell I can see it from the 11th floor hahaha) and took the train to the Expo, just in time for the Walking Dead Panel with David Morrissey, Lew Temple and Scott Wilson. That was definately fun. Lew is intelligent and fun, David is just awesome, Scott is just adored. haha always making jokes about David killing them both. hahaha. Frankly I think Lew and David would have made WONDERFUL zombies but I can see why they avoided it. I may have misheard but I think Scott Wilson has his own severed head in a closet?
After that me and Penny went over to Big Four and wandered, and eee, there was the Walking Dead dudes signy booths. Danai Gurira's line was impossibly long and after a point of like 60 people, cut off, so no Michonne meeting for me. Just as well, I wanted to meet Lew. I actually wanted my Halloween cover signed but I liked the pic they had up so I got that instead.
We had a nice little chat about the different versions I've seen. There's the nasty-ass rape scene that he did (and right after, Michael squished him haha) and then there's the shitty Netflix Weinstien version. I'm all for the more visceral rob zombie version. :) I can't wait for 13. hahaha poor him being the human shield in TWD
Then I went over to David Morrisey's booth and waited about a half hour (getting nervous cause Peter Cullen was pretty quick and I didn't want to be late)
HE was amazingly sweet, and very worth the wait :D
I think out of everyone I've met at this con so far, he's one of my favorites.

i almost did that. The dude in front of me in line to meet Peter Cullen (eee!) was even more nervous than me. Which I think helped, I ended up too busy calming HIM down so I couldnt scare myself into a panic hahahahaha
Then I saw him sitting there talking to the dude in front of me and I did that little internal Pom Pom dance mixed with the Wayne's World Alice Cooper 'We're not worthy' bowing.
Yeah, So I squeed silently up to him and Oh my god, he's so CUTE. and just... friendly as hell. Told him I've been pretty much wanting to meet him for 32 years haha and shook his hand and he asked where I was from, and I got a hug, and and and oh man I actually was very calm (externally. internally I peed my pants hahahaha)
I was right tho. I just want to take him home and feed him. LOL. Oh god I hate pics of me but dammit I had to. LOOKIT! Man I'm all giggly just looking at that. I got to hug Optimus fuckin' Prime, and he was just as cool as I thought he'd be.
When I got out of there, trust me, I did the EXTERNAL squee dance and got all, you know, Adrenaline rushed ? yeah.

so after that I went hunting for Penny, who had gone for HER photo op with Graham McTavish (who I'm still inexplicably shy around), found her at WETA, and we wandered... OH, yeah, I finally worked up the guts to go see Lucifer :D
Penny got a ninja shot of him too, I'll post it when I get home. There's so many pics I have to post yet but I want to see them on my PC and not my Cell phone. Blegh.
BUT, yeah, Mark Pellegrino was a sweetie. The Panel yesterday with him was hilarious, the whole 'stare off' thing... I had to agree with him about his favorite scene... when he got to explode all the pagan gods. I love that episode, (very glad Kali lived), especially right after he stabs Gabriel and kind of shaky-sighs and trembles and looks just miserable after putting up that 'i'm an evil fucker' front. That's the fun part about Lucifer. He's an SOB but you can't help but feel sorry for him. Pellegrino did wonderfully.
oh shit, then what happened.... ah, Penny went to see Graham and I once again hid, tho I gave her his matching Bloodstone keychain to give to him.
I still owe that dude a round. I said I would. hahaha

BUT holy crap she was so sweet.
Wandered a bit after that, stopped back at the steampunk booth and saw a few more cosplayers, then we found the women in Gaming panel and sat in there. Gamergate was brought up and that whole mini-discussion was interesting (See my entry in Ranty mcrantypants tag haha). As a female gamer especially that whole issue was interesting. Writing for games would be a blast. If there's one thing I'm good at writing is dialogue... hmmmm...
After that was the WETA panel. WOW. Dude went from, well, dude to Orc in an hour.
Some of the stories told during were hilarious. Tank + Graham Mctavish + Peter Jackson = Mayhem and Carnage and traumatized basketball players hahahaha
Penny and I buggered off after to the 'after party' (HAH) at that Cowboys casino. PHAIL. that place was, well, full of cowboys and bad country music. and some kids 28th birthday I think. we fucked off after one beer.
Thank you Penny, btw for NOT abandoning me there all by my lonesome afterwards. hahaha I must have laid on the doe eyes pretty hard cause EEEHIY I was so lost and bussing/training my way to the hotel afterwards by myself was a frightening prospect. Probably would have ended up in Vancouver or something hahahaha
So we went to Crack Macs so I could get smokes and here I am. Headachy as hell, thinking about a bath, and seriously wanting a smoke but I'm just in my gitch and putting pants on seems too difficult.
Tomorrow, fuck knows what i'm going to do but I have less than 100 to my name and we've done almost everything already. Maybe, MAYBE, I'll grow the guts to actually say more than 'squeek' to Graham McTavish. ahhahahaha.
Oh screw it I need a smoke. Pants it is. hahahaha
