RIP, Luciano Pavarotti
Just found out that Luciano Pavarotti died not too long ago. Normally, celebrity deaths fall into the "big fat whoop" category for me, but his magnificent voice (and somewhat endearing flamboyance) made quite an impact on me as a music lover. Maybe many folks out there don't know this, but I'm actually quite an opera lover and, typical as this may be, Pavarotti is and will always be one of my all-time favorite tenors.
Right now, I'm feeling especially lucky that I had the pleasure of seeing him perform live when I was 11. Even then, I knew I was seeing a legend.
