Well, I kind of know what you're saying. In a selfish way, I guess I'm just jealous of Gretchen. She's got Mike and me as Primaries as well as a few other lovers, so she is living the actual poly lifestyle. OK, any way I say this it's going to make me sound obsessive of co-dependent or something, but whatever...
I would like to have someone else to spend time with when she's with Mike, so I don't become/seem like the obsessive boyfriend who is just waiting around for my turn. Does that make sense? It's hard being a poly guy. No one takes you seriously. From my perspective, guys are a lot more likely to not have a problem sharing a girlfriend then girls sharing a boyfriend. And just because a girl is 'secondary' or whatever you want to call it, doesn't make my feelings for that girl any less real or strong.
Eh, I feel like I could start ranting about all this, but I'll spare you (unless you want to know my philosophy, and I'm sure there's a good long post in this head of mine).
Congrats on being cool with celibacy. I've considered it, but couldn't do it unless I was really not in any kind of relationships (by circumstance, not choice). May it serve you as long as it's right for you!
