What Do I Do Now?

Well I am now finding myself with more time on my hands then ever. Well in comparison to the last year of balancing school full time and working full time. I have just switched from working weekends to working week days. While all last week I went to the gym and boxing, this week will be much the same, but I am also looking to go back to school. WAH WAH. Only this time it will be for four years, maybe less if I can carry my classes over from U Ottawa. We shall see.

I am thinking of finishing my B.A. in nursing at Douglas College. Psych nursing to be exact. I have learned from working at the Downtown Eastside Womans Center, that I really do love helping people, and nurturing people. But I need something a little more rewarding, and I want to work with children and adolescents. While working with some of the women here has been amazing, life changing, and a total learning lesson, I have discovered that these women are so broken that they are unfixable. At least in their eyes. I want to be able to help to the person and help them get better. While I am aware that a broken person cannot be fixed unless they want it, i believe that if someone knows that there is someone who is extending their hand, a person is more inclined to reach for help.

A friend of mine hung himself a couple weeks ago. I didn't really have the chance to get to know him super well, he was one of my greatest friends boyfriend. And she is crushed. This got me to thinking. Through the anger that I had, as suicide is such a selfish act, I decided to really look into this area of work. My friend Laine,is a psych nurse, and she said that I would be really great at it.. So here is hoping.

Fashion you ask? It will still be a driving force in my life. And I am currently heading a new business plan for someone. I can't give out any details quite yet, but I am hoping that it will be very successful. I will also continue designing and have started working and sketching out a kids line. I think I will name it Mon Petite Chou. We shall see. Also working on more Genevieve Alexander. Spring Summer 2011 dresses and separates. I am mildly stuck on what to do up for the fall/winter. But to be totally honest, I just endured winter, and its finally spring.. so it will have to wait for right now. haha

Anyway, this is a HUGE update. So digest this and I will return in the next couple of days :)

Much Love,
Kat
