Portlandia Live Tour, Rob & Eric style
So, as many of you know, Eric and I are huge fans of the IFC TV sketch comedy show known as Portlandia, starring Fred Armisen of Saturday Night Live and Carrie Brownstein of Sleater-Kinney & Wild Flag fame.
It was announced that there was going to be a Portlandia Live Tour. I decided to buy tickets for the Portland, Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles shows as a surprise for Eric. I had to think of a way to get him to the Pacific Northwest between Christmas and New Years. I tricked him and just said that I wanted to get away for the holidays and had never been up there. He sweetly agreed to go along for the adventure of it. Eric didn't know we were going to see Portlandia Live until we were under the marquee of the Hollywood Theatre in Portland. Was a TOTAL surprise! Little did I know, that every night, we would end up on stage during the show.
We will be seeing the Los Angeles shows on January 16 & 17. I wish we could afford to see the shows in Chicago, Brooklyn & New York. It's been such a fun way to kick off 2012!
