Hi, All! I'm posting to tell you all the exciting news from Delaware, the First State (to ratify the Constitution, if I'm not mistaken)!
First of all, our apartment is shaping up well. I was a teensy bit frustrated when we first got in - the place was bigger in my memory/imagination. Things are coming together nicely though. I need bookshelves and storage solutions, but this is nothing that anyone who knows us couldn't anticipate. Right now, the kitchen is the only room that is truly organized, because Mom and I attacked it first thing Wednesday. Today, Mom and I went to Bed, Bath, and Beyond and spent a disgusting amount of money on shower curtains and various other bathroom accessories for our TWO bathrooms! Oh, and I got a scale for myself. We also went furniture shopping at Raymour and Flanagan and found some nice pieces. They are within our budget and can be delivered in three days - I just have to get Adam to come look at them with me! Oh, and we also went to Macy's and exchanged a few gifts (nothing that anyone who reads this got us) that were duplicated for the last of the towels on the registry. I also used my Bridal Rewards gift card to buy my last few place settings of good flatware, so that's taken care of as well. Seriously, the rewards program is the best reason to register at Macy's - they keep track of everything you buy for the duration of your engagement to about 4-5 months after the wedding (using your Macy's Charge) and give you 10% of what you spend, as well as 5% of what everyone else buys you off the registry, on a gift card. Mine came to over $150 - and was enough to buy FOUR place settings of my flatware. It just makes me happy.
Adam, poor thing, has been sick with a low fever and aches yesterday and today. He's been amusing himself, however, by giving me radio station names to inform me of his latest temperature. I was concerned this morning when he was CBS-FM, but was pleased to hear that he had regressed to the Whale this evening.
Because Adam was sick tonight, I made him soup for dinner and ordered Italian delivery, chicken parmesan to be exact, from a place called Seasons Pizza for myself. It was good, but ummm, a little unusual to say the least. Why? It wasn't chicken cutlet parm, but chicken nugget parm. No, really. Well, more like chicken selects parm, because they weren't formed like nuggets are, they were just smaller pieces of chicken, breaded, sauced, and cheesed. And there was a lot less cheese. Usually it is just buried in melted mozzarella, but there was just a little bit of melted parmesan on each nugget. It was good though, I just missed the cutlet. Note to self: find out if this is some crazy Delaware thing or some crazy Seasons Pizza thing.
Random thoughts:
Our mattress was delivered yesterday, and it's SOOOOOO Comfortable!!!!!
Abbie, I've noticed that I'm the only person who watches Tickling Dragons who isn't a member. Does everyone over there think I'm crazy? Have they even noticed? Really though, I'm enjoying reading it a LOT!!!!! It is just SO well done.
Adam bought our plane tickets for California this May. We're going We're Going WE'RE GOING!!!!!!!!!! $183 each, round trip. Total cost of airfare for BOTH of us under $400.
OK people, help me out here. Come help me find places for all this crap!!!!!!!!!!!
