1. What did you do in 2021 that you'd never done before?

Climbed Ben Nevis. Volunteered for a vaccine trial. Had more than one girlfriend 😮

2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

None in 2021. Going to do Veganuary in 2022.

3. Did anyone close to you become a parent?

Sara Magnusson

4. Did anyone close to you die?

Louis Grey Magus. Stephan Lewin. Roby. Chris Jones. DJ Rex. Caroline's cat Iggy, who I lived with when he was a kitten.

4a. Did anyone close to you get married?

Adrian Atkins and Shelly Robinson - we should have played their wedding 😢 Andrew Robert Burgess and Romany Burgess hosted a sumptuous wedding.

5. What countries did you visit?

Malta, Scotland, USA

6. What would you like to have in 2022 that you lacked in 2021?

Gigs with the Memepunks

7. What dates from 2021 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

18th January, 16th March, 29th September - Covid jabs

16th March - met Kathryn E. Piquette

15th May - a little lockdown gathering at Carni's with Hilary Theaker

12th August - climbing Ben Nevis

5th September - turned 50

14th December - caught Covid (again!)

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Climbing Ben Nevis. Actually, getting DOWN Ben Nevis, which was far more difficult. Also, sticking with RockFit all year.

9. What was your biggest failure?

Catching Covid AGAIN.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

Fibroids; nearly made it to the end of the year without catching Covid a second time. Sigh.

11. What was the best thing you bought?



RockFit membership.

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?

My Ben Nevis posse: Kathryn E. Piquette, Sarah Smith and Julianne Catrine

Carni and Hilary for bringing me the best quarantine care package ever

Everyone who came to my 50th birthday

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?

BoJo, anti maskers, promoters who refused to make their event Covid safe then made ME out to be the bad guy for trying to keep people healthy.

14. Where did most of your money go?

Paid off a big chunk of my mortgage. \m/

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

New relationships. 😃 Planning a trek to Machu Picchu (replaced by Ben Nevis). Visiting my family again. Playing again with the Memepunks... curse you, Covid 🙁

16. What song will always remind you of 2021?

Gotta be a RockFit track, I'll say Mayhem by Halestorm

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:

a) Happier or sadder? Up to last week, happier.

b) Bigger or smaller? Buffer, that's for sure!

c) Richer or poorer? Less indebted? Guess that's richer.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?

Spending time with friends, while we still could.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?

Going out to dinner on December 14th! Argh!

20. How will you be spending Christmas?

Quarantining with my cat and a lobster. Yay for early release, I spent it with my partner, my cat and half a lobster!

21. Did you fall in love in 2021?

I think it is fair to say so 😃

What a question, does anyone in the history of ever answer this question with a number that isn't none? Taking recommendations on a substitute question that is perhaps poly friendly.

23. What was your favourite TV programme?

Squid Game

24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?

Not hate, but there is an event that I can no longer support, which is unfortunate.

25. What was the best book you read?

I just watch Netflix these days. I know...

26. What was your greatest musical discovery?

Auger

27. What did you want and get?

Vaccinated. A great 50th birthday party.

28. What did you want and not get?

An end to the pandemic.

29. What was your favourite film of this year?

Dune

30. What did you do on your birthday?

Birthday trip to Scotland followed by a party at Electrowerkz.

31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

Getting to make that trip to Machu Picchu.

32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2021?

Pyjamas and/or workout gear 95% of the time.

33. What kept you sane?

Vaccines, RockFit, Jamulus, my polycule

I was too busy fancying real life people.

35. What political issue stirred you the most?

Covid passes

36. Who did you miss?

Mostly Tarquin Fitch, I did get to see folks for half the year. Definitely my bandmates... practising online isn't quite the same thing.

50 is nowhere near as old as it sounds.
