It's Been 12 Years
Yesterday, I turned 12 years in the United States. 12 years of that event that would change my life. I have gone through all kinds of changes that shaped the adult I am right now.
The last change has been 1 year in my own apartment, paying my own bills, liking living alone, finally being over thought patterns that have been tearing my heart and mental health, still in the same job, but this time me being in charge of my own professional growth... Willing to embrace the possibility of remaining single...
It has been 12 years of changes, of illusions, heartbreaks, heart blooms and lots of friends. 12 years of self-knowledge. 12 years in which I have lived in 3 cities. 12 years of friends. And ultimately 12 years in which I am still philosophical about the world around me. 12 years of a country I have learned to consider home.
I am thankful to all the people who have made these 12 years so special.
