on working retail at christmastime
please be kind to your sales clerks when you buy stuff. they are people too, and contrary to what you might think, being mean to them doesn't make your life or theirs any better. and trust me, it takes every ounce of self-control they have not to lash back out at you and your snotty rich-bitch self....
the good news is that i was the fourth-highest associate in sales for the past two days, and opened up 8 new charge accounts in three days..... most people are lucky to get one a week, so basically my boss loves me. oh and i rock at gift card sales too, because i was third highest in the store for the past two days also. go team danae + L&T. i've also managed to snag some amazing buys, like my new donna karan double-breasted walker raincoat (lined), originally $230, for about $60. plus all the awesome christmas presents i bought for people. and i also managed to double my hours by volunteering to work for all the old ladies when they want days off. unfortunately, this also leaves me exhausted and very little free time. the money is worth it though, at least in theory (since i seem to be spending it all on stuff in store).
