ice rink 1, me 0
oof...so did the Give Hockey A Try Day thingy...and ooooh do i just want to lay in a jacuzzi for a bit... n.n; it was good fun. got there a bit late with a bit o' traffic on 17 and 101, missed the 'this is how you get up from the ice' tutorial because i was having fun putting on all the equipment...which is AAAUUUUUUUGH HOT! @_@; even when you into the rink! oof! managed to strap everything on and grab a stick to get out onto the ice in time for the puck handling drills...which i need much more practice with. n.n;; practicing passing kinda killed my back since you're not supposed to bend from the back but from the knees...which i honestly TRIED to do but with all the extra padding i'm not used to having while skating...made it kinda hard to do.
anyhoo, scrimmage time came around and for my first 2 minutes, i got to play center. boy was it tiring. n.n; this is also when i took my spill i think. i'm not exactly sure what happened but all of a sudden, i just knew i was gonna fall but not with enough time to do much to break the fall...so i ended up falling right on my chest. while i didn't get the wind knocked out of me, it surely hurt some. took a few breaths to recover enough to just stand back up and playing the rest of the scrimmages were pretty tiring... ended with no one scoring and me in quite a bit of hurt...but was definately fun. lord knows i probably got one hell of a workout and lost a few pounds in water/sweat. whether i'll be signing up to continue playing or not really depends on income and time i'd have open for practice/games. if i were to play, probably won't be til the season after the upcoming one but...time will tell... n.n;
