Heaven Must Be Missing an Angel - Oh Wait
so today was/would have been Allison's 30th birthday. yes, my dear, irreplaceable, nonpareil Best Friend Evar is (still) gone and (obviously) ain't coming back.
her dearly loved partner Jason came to me with an idea to throw a party for Allison's 30th. considering it fell on a Saturday, how could we not?
of COURSE it was but a pale shadow of what it would have been, had she been here. a birthday party without the guest of honor is a dicey proposition at best. but her friends showed up and we pulled it off!
we gathered. we ate and drank and laughed and talked and reminisced and joked and even cried a bit (well, I did anyway, but I was hiding). I really do think Allison would have been pleased. and on a personal level I had some great interactions with folks at the party, which I really hope will flower into new things. I know Allison would love that!
