CAREER GOAL: Network. Not live in Connecticut; gain residency in a state besides this shit hole.
Skills to work free lance. Skills to work as a storyboard artist, or various comic fields (inking, penciling, etc). Something that will put me on a story project.
MCAD -
Location: Minnesota
Dorms: Yes
Illustration: Yes
Animation: Yes
Tuition: $38,370
Expected Debt: SEVERE
Friends there: NO
PROS: Amazing school with plenty of choices in majors. Lots of cool hipster types there; Seasonal weather. Known animation studios in the area. Only college beside SVA with comicing focuses.
CONS: Shit fucking asshole expensive. State I've never heard of. Far from family/friends. On this list because....?
KUBERT SCHOOL -
Location: New Jersey
Dorms: Sorta, there is housing
Illustration: Yes
Animation: No
Tuition: $23,000
Application fee: $50
Expected Debt: STILL PRETTY BAD
Friends there: Hour train ride from NYC, so there's Alexa and any friends from CT, also dad etc
PROS: kind of cheaper than most schools........? seems to have a very hands on, rigorous course loads. would more than likely give me the skills i need to be umm... decent. also many noted alumni from this school. it's definitely a good one. it's also only 3 years. also i dont mind new jersey, used to vacation there, liked the state
CONS: not .. exactly in nyc, so there's a commute. not in the hub of any big animation studios, or anything. bleh. so the locations a no go, but i really like the curriculum. also, being a specialty school-- won't have beefy financial aid packets that other schools may give.
PAIER COLLEGE -
Location: Connecticut
Dorms: NO!!

Tuition: with financial aid probably like $10k
Expected Debt: Hardly any, like 20k at most
Friends there: lol
PROS: in state. cheap.
CONS: if i have to live in ct for 4 more years i will drive my body into a steel shed. plus the illustration program is shit, its all fucking shit, frances. there are no notable alumni from this college. it's literally not worth the money to go here, unless i got a free ride somehow. this is on the list just for completeness's sake
LCAD -
Location: California
Dorms: Off campus housing....
Illustration: Yes
Animation: Yes
Tuition: $23k on it's own, but housing? brings it near $33k
Expected Debt: Fuck me raw amounts of debt.
Friends there: so many friends on the west coast. so very large amount of friends
PROS: CALIFORNIA. what shit roll of dice landed me so far away from a state where art runs through its golden, gay veins? LCAD is in direct cahoots with companies like blizzard, and its near the animation hub of california. it would grant me residency there and the weather would be so nice.
CONS: MONEY. MONEY. MONEY. this would be my school of choice, were it not for that :/
