let's see: I was the Lighting Director for comedian Katt WIlliams' performance at the Liacouras Center... my first full-blown arena show!!! It was a seriously awesome experience, being the dude behind the console on a headset, calling spot cues and running lights for a sold-out arena crowd. The artist and the promoter (Live Nation) were both very pleased with the production: we'll be working with him again this weekend in Trenton, with a slightly bigger rig -- should be fun!
The next day was Kate Nash at the Trocadero, for which I had thought I would be running lights; however, it turns out that she was touring with a lighting operator, so I just did the "house LD" thing for them (which consisted of hanging their sexy Austrian-style drop and doing a bunch of moving-light programming). Very pleasant show overall.
kraftwink and I set up an election-night event for Pennsylvania Senate hopeful John Dougherty, which was held at a colorful little Italian banquet hall in Sout' Philly on the eve of the Pennsylvania Primaries. Camera crews from all the major television networks were there, the food was good (amazing cannolis!), but unfortunately he didn't win the election...
Coming up: Katt Williams at the Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton this weekend, the WMMR Barbecue with Stone Temple Pilots and Staind at the Tweeter Center in Camden in mid-May, and a live appearance playing drums with Lost Signal at Dracula's Ball on May 24th!
