It's been miserable weather here...there's a rainy period in late November/early December every year just as it's turning properly cold that sucks. However, coming from unpredictable foggy East Tennessee where it has a tendency to rain off and on continuously, I can't really complain, except for not being able to dry laundry.
Gwen is sick. I was just thinking how it's been a long time since she's been sick, which should have been a warning. She had a huge diaper blowout and then threw up all over Soi on their outing yesterday. Thank goodness I dodged that bullet. Had to wash all her bedding/sleepwear this morning when the same combo happened, but then she was feeling good enough for us to venture to the library with our very overdue books. Now she's in the middle of a meganap, which gives me enough time to muster up the umph I need to get through the evening.
We've been working on the outside of the house, and the back and front are pretty much done.
We've got a Japanese dogwood on the corner and a little kumquat tree. The idea is that the bamboo with get taller and fluff out a bit, making a green screen for the people inside. It's lovely when the light shines through all dappled. The very front will be paved and have a little bench, maybe a pot of flowers. We paved the tiny back strip ourselves with some stuff called 固まる土 that you spread out and then water and let set. It gives us a place to park our bikes and hopefully discourage people from throwing trash and the neighbor's cat from pooping back there.
Other news, SuperBaby 2.0 is (mostly) confirmed a girl. This is the last kid for us, so it's a bit disappointing not to get a boy, but it simplifies rooming quite a bit. Soi is surrounded by girls. Even our cats are female.
Ok, better start dinner while she's still sleeping.
