PA went to a sleep clinic a few weeks ago to get checked for sleep apnea. I slept by myself for the first time in years and I slept soooo well. It was awesome.  I had no idea how much his snoring and breathing problems were affecting my sleep. It was a two night test , so I was very excited to have a second night to myself.

As luck would have it, that was the night that little girl came down with pinkeye. She crawled into bed with me and breathed her sick-breath in my face and nuzzled and kicked. I was so frustrated because I had really hyped another full night's rest all day and didn't get it.

Also, his doctor was out of town for a week and that delayed the consultation he needed before getting his own machine. He called me on the way back from the doctor's office today:
PA: Hey, turns out I don't have sleep apnea at all.
Me: You better turn back around!
PA: I'm kidding. I have it pretty bad. They say if you stop breathing thirty times a night, you have sleep apnea. I stop breathing about fifty-five times an hour.
Me: Holy crap!

I had to pick up his machine at the pharmacy since he works so late. The guy was showing me how to fit the mask on PA's face.  He said,"Now he has a pretty severe case, so he needs to wear it every night." I said,"Don't worry. I'd like to get my sleep, too. If he doesn't wear it, I'm going to fit a pillow over his face."  :)

I'm going to be much better rested now that I won't be waking up to elbow him or to tell him to roll over or to measure the room for twin beds.
