my japanese interview

Apr 28, 2006 10:44

I just got interviewed by this Japanese design magazine, Axis - funny name for the mag right? Any ways, it went ok but I learned some things from it.

I actually DO need to have fucking tag lines and sound bites. People just can't write or understand anything that is longer than that.

I need to have everything in a demonstrable version. Talking about interactive work is like talking about unicorns, people can get a vague idea of what you're saying, but don't actually believe you rode one before .... or some other better analogy.

If you're going to do cultural shit - don't cop out and just do it. I know that asians give each other business cards with both hands and so I thought I would do that when handing it to her. But then I got a little awkward when she bowed to me and accepted it in the traditional japanese fashion.

In other news, the Falls album is amazing. Mad Moth Goth actually talks about all the goths who go to Camber Sands - where I FUCKING WAS when I saw them, LOL

Finally my old timer friend STeve is moving here for the summer. We're gonna do some music together, probably gonna do Oshiko Arigato - which is Throbbing Gristle meets Sun 0))) and sung in Japanese. I also want to reignite my HamaSexual band. Currently, I'm very interested in creating music that acknowledges its region - in other words I want to use the sounds of deep south booty bass hip hop in my noise music.
