So yesterday i turned 25. It was an occasion that merited and received very little fanfare. I spent the day driving back from Joel's wedding and taking a test. Not too exciting. I did watch Thank You For Smoking though, which was pretty funny. I wouldnt call the weekend a "waste", seeing my family is always a good thing. It just went by real fast, and of the 48 hours we were away from our home, the breakdown is this:
11 hours driving
16 sleeping
7 drinking beer
3 wedding events
3 eating
2 shopping
6 set up and tear down
so approx 1/5 of my time was spent on the reason i came. Oh well, its just a weekend. just another day.
My parents called me last night, to wish me well on my day. I had absolutely nothing of note to report. I am sure they took my demeanor as indifferent, maybe cold. I was just increasingly struck at how busy/simple my life is. To prove my point, here are some questions and my answers with elaborations.
School?
Its okay, I got a B and a C. (it consumes most of my free time. i dont really like it, but i have to go)
Work?
Its OK. (its a living. No news. I sit in an office, I go to the gym, I come home.)
Diana?
Its good. (it is. again, nothing noteworthy.)
You guys getting along?
Yeah, just fine (we ALWAYS get along, just sometimes i act like a bonehead)
How's trying for kids?
Its going but its not. (she got mad at me for divulging details to friends about this. as she is a reader, i will leave it at that.)
Thats all I remember right now. Diana swore something was wrong with me last night, but I think I was just a little stoned from my medication (empty stomach)
I got a bunch of alcohol for my birthday, which is nice, but i think it kind of speaks to my character a little bit. I had recently pledged to cut back my drinking a bit, since it was starting to a) cost a bit and b) interfere with my other responsabilities. My mom was kind enough to broker the arrival of my shotgun. Good stuff, Joe and I want to go hunting sometime this year, and since neither have ever been deer hunting, it should make for an entertaining outing.
The band is going good. We are constantly practicing, and trying to improve our sound, and add songs. We have yet to play out, besides house parties and such. This weekend we are going to try and cut some new tracks, with our new bass player, showcasing our "newer" sound. Should be a good time, if the band doesnt get drunk too early.
Thats pretty much it for me. Thanks for reading!
