Weigh The Good With The Bad

I had a lot of fun this weekend, gents and ladies. Overall, aside from sleeping difficulties, it was a very kickass 3 days. Something bad happened that was most likely my fault:

Thursday night I think I left my Visa Debit ATM Bank Card thingy in the ATM at the bank, so I had to call and put a stop on it. I should get a new one in about a week or so, and I should hear from the bank shortly if there was any attempts to buy Portuguese silk bags or high-interest mutual funds.

What was good? Aside from choice hanging out, a poker win, and relaxomocation, I was on the prowl for a Gamecube memory card (FYI, I had to settle for a pink MadCatz one.) and Hastings had their usual tall cardboard box of crap used games, 3 for $9.99. Maybe it's because I come from a distinguished pedigree of garage sale patrons, but I just can't resist the allure of a bargain bin, so I thumbed through it for gigglies. End result? Ace Combat 4, City Crisis, Romancing SaGa, Xenosaga, Xenosaga 2, The Getaway, Jak 2, Ratchet & Clank, and Siren for just shy of $30. Talk about a haul.

If you're a local reading this and you're like "Hey, I like cheap PS2 games." be forewarned that I really did pick the selection pretty clean, but there are still a few decent games in between the very very thick stacks of 50 Cent: Bulletproof.

How did he get a second game?

Also, Street Fighter 4 is a nifty game, it's very pretty, but I really feel like it's a giant step backwards for the series. It feels like a very polished Alpha, which is by no means an insult, but just feels empty and naked compared to Third Strike. I've been plugging away at it all weekend, but I think it shan't be long before I migrate back to VF5 for my online fighting needs. Also, the request system is a really cool-feeling idea, and will be pretty awesome in a month or two when you could maybe actually get a couple of rounds in against the CPU before being repeatedly challenged by scrubs randomly deciding that Crimson Viper is the new Blanka. Don't get it. Don't get it all.
