As I often do for my job, I spend some time researching things online, usually trying to find out why certain software does what it does, and other times to keep up in the technology field. While opening my homepage on my computer I saw a news article about IPods, and I just had to click on it. I’ve been looking into problems with IPods ever since my roommate’s stopped working. So I pulled up the article called “Apple Lowers iPod Volume I had to bite my lip and have a quiet spasm at my desk while I made it through this article. The article itself was great; I just hated the topic that it covered. It covered the controversy with the Apple Ipod’s volume being able to be turned up too loud. Now apple has released a patch so that people can put a volume control on the volume control. (Maybe you didn’t get that...there is a volume for the volume)
After seeing this I am starting to wonder (as a species) how dumb we are. Can’t we write off the idiots who are listening to their IPods too loud as susceptible losses? I don’t personally think that it is Apple’s responsibility to make sure you’re smart enough to use the volume with self control. That is unless Apple is sneaking into people’s rooms at night and turning their IPods volume up, then I could see all the fuss about it. This to me is evident that if you listen too loud, you’ll loose your hearing. Heck, my mom still tells me not to listen to things too loud.
Now there are a bunch of idiots suing Apple because they are stupid. I don’t care about the legal mumbo jumbo, if you keep any stereo device on the highest setting you are practically screaming, “I don’t want my hearing any more”. Plus on top of them not being the brightest people ever, their stupid frivolous lawsuit will tie up our judicial system, when we could take care of real crimes like illegal immigration.
This fits in to category of if you’re too stupid to use it right, than I think that you should never be allowed to use it ever again. These people should be banned from using the radio, in fear that they might make themselves completely deaf with it. I would also make sure to remove pencils from their offices; you know those things (if used like a pea brain) can cause some serious problems. With stupid lawsuit going around like this I wonder if I can take this water bottle I am drinking jam it into my eye and make a lawsuit out of that.
As I am always saying, if we keep pampering to the stupid then there is no good reason to become intelligent. I think every time I read the paper or watch the news, that the human species it possibly the dumbest creature to inhabit this planet, then I think it can’t get any worse…then tomorrow comes…and we get stupider.
