I managed to fuck up my laptop. Again.
I was installing the latest drivers for ATI Radeon 7500 (Shut up, she's an old girl and very reliable.) and I kept getting an error and a request to go to Standard VGA. I thought I could handle it on my own *Ashamed head hangingness*
I uninstalled the ATI drivers completely from my computer - forcing it to go back to standard pussy ass drivers, and that didn't work either.
It never occurred to me I might have to download the SVGA drivers to support the laptop.
Stupidly, I decided I hadn't convinced the computer it was running on SVGA... I am so very ashamed and disappointed in myself.
I committed the sin of all arrogant men:
I thought I knew better. I thought I could solve the problem without seeking advice...
I went to display, advanced, and found the default video hardware drivers for my dear old laptop...
And disabled them.
Prompting my laptop to turn OFF the display.
I have sound. I have input.
BUT I CAN'T. SEE. A FUCKING. THING.
