Blessed Release
So I know I haven't posted about Burning Man yet... there's still a lot jumbling around in my head about that, but expect something soon. In the MEANTIME, I give you a report on Qoöl tonight:
Ohmygodsogoodsqueeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! At work, I talked bmills into wearing one of his Burning Man costumes to Qoöl tonight since I was planning on wearing what I wore the night of the Burn (there's also long silver gloves that go with it). I figured that the first Qoöl after Burning Man would be filled with crazy burners still reveling in their crazy outfits. Turns out it was just the two of us, but we rocked the fuck out! His outfit was a red and black leopard print smoking jacket, mesh shirt, some kind of pants, and a three-muskateers-style hat which has little rings around the rim allowing you to attach a necklace glow-stick thingie rimming the hat with glowy-shiny!! It looked stellar! I think he also had his dusty goggles around his neck. He brought two glow-stick bracelets for me, so we were both lighting up the place which ended up being pretty dark... NICE! I danced pretty much non-stop from 7:30 to 10:00 and bmills danced most of the time but had to take overheating breaks, given his jacket... Mmmmmmm...
[Edit: I also saw djmermaid and jovino briefly before they had to run and get food. Mermaid's Nifer-made pink playa dreads were beautiful! So bmills and I weren't the only crazy ones there ;)]
We've decided to dress up crazy every Qoöl. Next week, I think I'm going to wear my Trauma Team (bright yellow) suit with the biohazard goggles I picked up at a thrift store with sunyata__ and eots shortly before Burning Man. I didn't wear it on the playa and I'm still dying to wear it out somewhere. Dressing up crazy at Qoöl will be good motivation to continually get good party/burning-man outfits throughout the year instead of waiting until the last minute like I'm prone to doing. Oh, and incidentally, next week's Qoöl will feature Brass Tax DJs which will be really good! So if you're interested in going, let me know (laughingstone and traumentwerfer, I'm looking at you)!!
