Tool -- 10,000 Days
Wow! Someone posted about this album a while back and I got interested and put it in my Amazon wishlist... finally bought it and... Wow. I was hoping the music would be as good as the packaging (stereo-vision, baby!) and I wasn't disappointed. I'm still getting a feel for the album, but the initial impression is really good... and it'll probably grow on me even more. This will be in my car CD player for some time.
Current favorite song is track 5, The Pot.
I noticed that some of track 1, Vicarious was in an odd time signature but couldn't say for sure what it was... but Wikipedia confirmed it's 5/4 (as is Rosetta Stoned, apparently). A while back my brother was trying to convince me to make a 6/4 dance track to "fuck with people." Ostensibly, it'd be close enough to 4/4 to be mixable. But I never got anywhere with the idea, not really being able to do 4/4 dance music either ;).
Hahaha, Dream Theater has 10 entries on that Irregular Time Signatures list! (But Radiohead has 12.)
