Thor Heyerdahl? I mean, it would be a lot of fun, but if you're going to be an experimental archaeologist you should probably do some research first. Perhaps, I don't know, find some substantial evidence that a group of people actually did something like what you are planning to perform. This guy sailed a reed boat (or tried) from New Jersey to the Azores. He didn't even bother using materials you could acquire in New Jersey. National Geographic will be airing a special on this, so you should probably watch. You can read the full review that Eric Powell of Archaeology Magazine did
here.
Also, I'm SERIOUSLY considering delaying the CD project indefinitely. I'm weighing out the possibility of using Dou(gai)jin as primarily a free release entity for new artists and people in the otaku community (especially for songs that would need sample clearance and/or pull a lot of influence from another song ie: cover songs), and a label for us to release our brand of dance music on download sites like juno and beatport. That being said, I still plan on doing some heavy promotion at AWA, but the CDs will be free. I may change my mind in the future, but at the moment I think this is what I want to do. Another option that I'm considering is a sort of CD on demand type service, but it would be quite risky.
