This morning my old friend, Sheila, came over to my house and we spent a few hours catching up on each other's lives. I've known Sheila since she was a baby and I was just a toddler! We lost touch with each other since we've become adults and it feels good to reconnect.
After Sheila left, I took the kids and picked up my sister Janet. She was willing to be a "van sitter" while I had to run some errands. So, she watched the kids for me in the van while I went to the US Immigration place in Kentwood and got fingerprinted for the adoption and also when I went to get some blood drawn for tests needed to adopt. Thanks, Janet! Then I dropped her back at her house and went home. Troy came home a little later than normal because he stopped by the US Immigration place on his way home from work.
So, then off I went to work. My parents told me about a on-the-top van luggage carrier they saw on the curb near their house, so I stopped there on the way to work. It was still there, I thanked the woman who lived there, and came away with a really nice, big, hard-top thing for our van. Yay!
I got home from work at about 5:45, we had dinner, then off to church. It was our first time going to a service at our church's new building and it felt like home. It's smaller than our old building, but just perfect for us. There's lots of property, too, which is much different as our old building had a teeny, tiny little bit of grass around it. Now there's 18 acres. Yay again!
We got home in time for me to watch the last 1/2 of American Idol. Because it was a charity show tonight, turns out they did not send anyone home tonight but they will send 2 home next week. Very smart of them as it left everyone with a good, warm, fuzzy feeling.
Now I'm just tired. Check out
