I have the greatest wife in the world.
Earlier this week was her birthday. Do you know what she did to celebrate?
Did she run out with her friends to dinner, or drinking, or partying of any sort?
No.
She spent the evening of her birthday at the hospital, visiting my mother, taking care of me, and talking (and crying) with lots of family friends who had all shown up because we thought it was going to be the end for my mum.
Mum has survived (so far), and every evening since, Lanna has spent almost the entirety of every evening at the hospital or otherwise comforting me.
Someday, when things clear up and life returns to some semblance of normalcy, I hope that we can have a big belated birthday celebration for Lanna.
For the time being, though, she's busy being the greatest wife in the world.
