Post-Solstice celebration

Well, yesterday for the Solstice I didn't really do too much. So today, since I still wasn't feeling up to a full blown workout, I took it out into Nature.

First I went to Central Park, about a 10 minute drive away. It's a short walk around the park, about 10 minutes or 15 or something, and not at a very brisk pace. But I stopped by the pond and saw all the ducks and geese including 6 ducklings! It just brought a huge smile to my face. Further on I found 4 or 5 squirrels playing around the trunks of some trees and stopped there for a few minutes as well.

Afterwards, I moved on to the San Jose Municipal Rose Gardens. Quite lovely, and large for what it was, but not the best place for walking, but it was nice and smelled very pretty. Very green. After that I went to see the Heritage Rose Gardens in Guadalupe River Park and Gardens. I also saw the Historic Orchard and walked about for a little bit. I definitely want to go back and do all the little trails there. I so wish I had a bike as well.

Anyway, it was nice to get out. And right now, both my cats are on the balcony. Possibly because I don't think Ninja knows that Ghillie is there. G's up on a big box, and Ninja just ran out and is sitting on the concrete. I wish we got sun longer into the afternoon.. Really, we lose it around noon.

All in all, it was good to get out and get some sun and be around plants. Wish I would have done this yesterday, but a day late is better than nothing.
