January happened when?

Ok, so January 2010 is already a thing of the past. And it's been a rough one so far! But not altogether bad, just... rough.

I started working at Chegg.com as a contract employee doing chat support. I'm doing rather well, but learned while I'm great at customer service and general dislike it, I'm really getting sick of RETAIL customer service damn quick. Some customers are chill, but many want to blame ME for THEIR mistake. I started to write a diatribe on this, but just deleted it. No need to. If someone wants details, ask me. ;) Anyway, some people are already being sent home as things wind down. Surprisingly, I'm not one of them. It helps that I has volunteered to work an alternate shift that included weekends, but I also needed them to rearrange the new days for me to accommodate school. Oh yeah, Patrick covered SFSU for this semester because he knows what it meant to me to go back. That and a panic attack about what if I don't get into SJSU. Hehe. So yeah, they haven't given me my end date yet. I do, and I don't want to be let go. I could really use the money, even when I get cur to 3 days when the weekend shift disappears. But I need time for school and I'm already worn out from a week and a half of this. Hard to know what I want. And Patrick is hitting more bumps finding a new job as well, so it's not like we don't need the money. But 5 classes and work again? And not even weekend work, but during the work week when I'm taking classes and need to do classes...

Well, if they keep me, I'll stay, as long as I can. I doubt they will, but it is a possibility. My last satisfaction rating pull was 92.7% Who knows. I kinda want to just be let go and brought back during the next rush ;) Hehehehe.

On the up side, because I made so little last year, I should get bank in financial aid! I need to get that done in the next few days, damnit. I keep forgetting because I'm busy with other things.

Well, another birthday has come and gone. I'm 27, still in school, working a contract job and no real options after. Not great for my stress factors. But we'll see what can be done. I have enough cash to hold me over for a little bit. Less time now that I'm commuting again, but still. I can hold out for now.

Have I mentioned that I love my honey. I love living with him and having my cats here and seeing him snuggling with them, even though he's stealing my kitty loves. Right now, my Ghillie is curling up on a pillow next to me and trying to snuggle up to me and my computer. Ninja is stretched out on the flood near the kitchen on her back and looking at the ceiling. Or a box, I can't tell.

I've lost about 8 pounds this month. I could have done better, but with my birthday and stress days we've eaten kinda crappy, and the soda causes random bloat. I'm still an addict. We also haven't been working out. My because I've been exhausted all month, and my guy because he's been busy looking for work (or playing his MMO's). Hopefully we'll start soon, but I might not be able to until I'm done with Chegg or until I at least get my homework under better control, but with my load, it should only be getting harder. But we'll get there at some point. At least with school I'm walking around a bit more between classes and all.

Anyway, school. I went back to SFSU to finish my Italian degree, however, with a few plan changes that i hope I can put into effect. I want to do a double major with Italian and History and a minor in Modern Greek Studies. Italian I do love, but I can't rely on it, and to do an MA in history, I would need a BA or equivalent ANYway. However, with my total units, the school will not be happy. I intend to speak to someone today about it. I also need the courses to fill up my schedule. I want the Italian. But at best I can graduate with that in 2-3 semesters. History, I could possibly do it in 1, but then I'm cut off from Italian MA as an option, and I went to SFSU for the Italian program. I won't go down without a fight. Even if it means doing the history on my own (only need 5 more courses start next semester) for that major, not quite sure about Italian. 5-8. And Mod Greek I need 4. Just class availability is messing with me. If I have to sacrifice something, I think I'll sacrifice Modern Greek Studies, as it would only be a minor. But I really want to hold on to that too and just make the argument that I need history with those two.

Anyway, I need to get ready for class. Need to get there and get a good parking spot for an ungodly sum of money, and then go do some more reading for classes. :)
