Past two days have been nuts!
I went Tubing with Evan and Callie and Callie's on Wednesday. It was fun and cold, with a tidge of drama thrown in for spice. I got back to Asheville at 5:00 in time to get ready for Carmike. It was very tiring, but I was well rewarded with the Pirates preview for the employees (a day early no less!) I'm still mulling it over. It was such a sequel. Those of you who've seen it know what I mean. It did most of the things I was afraid it would do, but I still turned out all right. Just like the matrix, and Indiana Jones, it'll all depend on the third episode to pass or fail it as a trilogy.
Thursday I went to work again and dealt with the usual Erinn's still in the closet jokes. Stopped by Best Buy on the way home to return a CD, and ran into Nathan, Lisa's bf, who is working there again. I mentioned that I was in need of a pirate coat and boots, and for some strange reason, he had some, so I got his number and went on my merry way. To dance in fact, at Warren Wilson. Had a lot of awesome dances, including Trinity, Robin, Julie, Olivia (friend who I only see occassionally, but I have so much fun dancing with her), and little Becca, Beth's Malero's daughter who is 4 (who is now also speaking and loves shakespeare. She the Hay for Four- she will be quite the dancer when she's older).
Note to self: call Olivia soon to meet up with her and deliver the shirt you stole from her during LEAF. Rose Fiestien was at the dance, but more on that in a minute.
After the dance I went with Nathan (and his new Girlfriend) down to the pond and watched Forrest (another friend from a long time ago) throw some fire sticks around. We went to Waffle House to get some food (I was starving), and then I rushed back to Carmike to watch Pirates again with the loverly Megan Maloney.
Cut to Friday- met up with Rose Fienstien (who moved away back in 1998). She's been in town for the week, so we had some coffee at Malaprops. It was awkward- there wasn't much to talk about, but it was still nice to catch up.
I walked around downtown for a while looking for a red bandana, finally picking out some red cloth at the Fabric store. Went home, pulled out the Dredded wig I bought at Kim's two weeks ago (someone stole my other wig- bastard), and called Nathan.
Work was intense. The line never ended. But I was Jack Sparrow. It was so much fun! I arrived about half an hour early to practice the mannerisms (with some help from Carl who had excellent pointers), then I settled into box. We sold out every single show at least an hour before each showing. I had my picture taken with several patrons. For a look at the costume, check out my deviantart account:
ErnelsonKatie Wilson and Aaron Pratt (ECU theatre people) showed up for the late late show. They're between shows. Guys and Dolls apparently just finished, and they're going to drive back to Greenville at the end of the week for Footloose. I was able to get the last tickets before the show sold out.
Once we were sold out, I decided to run through the theatres as Jack Sparrow. There's a scene in the movie where Jack is escaping across a bridge, so I timed it down the aisle, so I was running in front of the screen as he ran above me. The first audience clapped for me, and it made me all giddy.
I have been feeling really good the past few days. I hope this keeps up, cause summer's half over and I would really like to enjoy it. Nathan and I are going to go see The Tempest tonight. We need to set some time aside and record that album we've been wanting to make since the 7th grade.
Be in the moment
Enjoy the now
