Happy 4th! (There's a kitty in my lap!)

I was going to go in to work at Carmike today. I had been planning on making an appearence at Glenna's 4th party, but a couple days ago I called Glenna to see when it was going to be and she told me it wasn't happening. So I figured I'd go make some money. I had almost arrived at Carmike when I got a phone call from Nathan asking me what I was doing for the evening. I abruptly turned my car around and went back home.

Fireworks in Weaverville. Evan says they're better than the one's in Asheville, but I'm pretty sure what he meant was "I have a girlfriend in Asheville," cause they weren't extremely impressive. Nathan and I drove out to Weaverville, but the fireworks started around 9:30, instead of 10:00 for fear of rain, so we had to weave our way through the crowded madness to find Evan and Callie. All in all it was much fun.

Then I drove back out to Carmike, where Emma (Anixter) was setting up her own set of fireworks on the roof. It was really really really excellent. While we were waiting, I raced Brant (working at Carmike now) to Target and back. He beat me there, I beat him on the home stretch.
Setting off fireworks on the roof! Hooray! Except sometimes the tube wouldn't shoot the rockets as far as they should have so they would explode directly above the heads of the audience in the parking lot. A little dangerous, but humorous to watch people scatter out of the way. I guess someone thought we were doing it on purpose so they threw some crackers back up at us. Not cool. That's when Emma pulled out her Roman Candles and started aiming at people with an incredibly evil laugh.

Anyone not familiar with Roman Candles, you light them, and they shoot out, a whole bunch of dangerous fireballs shoot out at a medium rate one after the other. All the people who knew Emma moved to one side. The rest weren't so smart.

All in all, it was a fabulous 4th of July. I tend to have pretty good ones.

Oh yeah,
I bought a couple Bob Schneider CD's online to make up for him not coming to Asheville.
