Beatmatching pioneer

DJs, take notice. Here is a BBC article about Delia Derbyshire, one of the composers of the original Dr. Who theme song and, as it turns out, a pioneer of electronic music. This woman did AMAZING things, many of which are just now being discovered. I would especially like to point out the article's sample of a very psytrance-sounding electronic dance track she produced in the late 60s, thirty years before its time. I mean, this track could appear on an album today and nobody would bat an eyelash.

Here is a YouTube video of her beatmatching on reel-to-reel machines in the late 1960s. So cool!

Here is a track on which she collaborated. If you've listened to the samples in the BBC article and in the video above, you'll definitely hear her influence. I find it absolutely amazing, the hybridization of classically 60s psychedelic sounds with nascent trip-hop.
