So I finally got Ravenor Returned today, since I did like Ravenor. I was hoping that Barnes and Noble would have the hardback but I guess they don't have a surplus of that. I'm still waiting for the Eishenhorn omnibus to reprint...and some more good books to come out.
My bro is here...let's just say that my mom is kinda ... well, displeased about the situation. I'm like "Look, just keep it to your friggin' self; I don't want to hear about it."
We went to Golden Coral, and the food... eh. The Bourbon chicken was just burnt. I only had two plates; I just ate too fast and too much. Then again, I only had some bacon when I first woke up at about 12:45. I did want some doughnuts but, traffic was just too crazy. I mean, on a epic scale for us. (And of course, my brother acting real goofy, but we can say that we blame this on the war and general boredom.)
My sleeping schedule is pretty wacked out right now. For the last two days, I napped at 9 pm and woke up around 11 or 12 for no apparent reason. I don't go to sleep until 5 and even then, I'm still wide awake. I went to sleep at 6:15 this morning. I know, it doesn't make any sense. I need to straighten that out before Thursday.
Why? Well, we're leaving for Dallas on Friday, and my flight's like at 3 or something. Don't you have to arrive at the airport like 2 hours prior or something because of the security junk you have to go through? I'm packing real light, since it's like a 2 hour flight. We were gonna do the EPIC BUS RIDE TO DALLAS (2 days travel), but I guess Dr. Good was right about the super-slim chance that we had. We're staying at this real nice hotel that's like not even walking distance to the Galleria, and some blocks away from the 'regular mall'. It's so big that we're also gonna stay with the Nebraska band, which is like 280 odd people. Put 375 together, and ... well, that's a lot of people.
On top of that, we just found out that we've been invited to perform at the Dallas v. Detroit game on the 31st. This is a EPIC trip off mass proportions. We get national exposure twice, as the Cotton Bowl is on the 1st. I just wonder what we're gonna do and how in the hell we're getting on the field. Are we coming out of the tunnels or line up on the field (omg)? And are we doing some type of pre-game (I know I was against this months ago)? I know we're probably not gonna wear our uniform because it would just look so out of place for one, and we do have our band shirts (2) and shorts. Although, I don't want to wear the shorts because... it's gonna be kinda cold. And how are we gonna sit in the stadium? As far as I know, they have actual seats. I know we're talking up 500 seats at the Bowl. I still say this whole affair is like trying to pimp us out to the state of Texas, as that's one of our leading factors besides Florida and...Virginia?
But yes, I call this 'pimping the band' out. Unless, there was a alumni somewhere who pulled some strings. In any case, this trip is paid for and, this is just great.
