smushiness ahead, proceed at your own risk

It's late-late here. I'm fried from the pre-finals rush, missing my hard-at-work-in-SF boy, wondering why I'm not asleep when I have to be up in a few hours to meet my research group, but...

I just dug out and re-read the little black notebook that some of you were thoughtful enough to put your words into for me before I left. And I'm just so overwhelmed by my blessings, by the light that you all bring into my life, by my luck in getting to count you as part of my tribe. I miss you like crazy, darlings, but those scrawled words make me want to make you proud.

Just another year. Cascadia's calling. Maybe not Seattle permanently yet, but, oh, at least close enough for a cheap commuter flight between bouts of grad school. Another year, and I hightail it out of here, bringing new stories and experiences, and leaving behind my sincere gratitude for the opportunity and a devout wish to never live in New England again. I need my misty grays and brilliant greens and awesome, awesome people around me again.
