Random update
Well, a few nights back I got pulled over for (of all reasons) having my brights on. It was stupid on my part, but still - I've seen so many other people driving with their brights on and not getting pulled over. Either way, he let me off the hook (no ticket, no losing my car since I don't have the license) so I'm deeply grateful. As for everything else, I still need to hit up some parallel parking before the 17th. (day of my appointment) I've done it successfully the last few times I attempted it, but if it's anything like pulling a shortcut off in a speedrun, all the more practice the better.
Of course, that leads to talking about SUPAH MAWIO GALAXEEEE. (I'll keep it short since I know it annoys everyone lol) I got a pretty good Star route down in my mind, have been practicing a lot, and am now saving up for a good DVD recorder. What does that have to do with a speedrun? Well, if all this practice comes together, this will be the first run I ever submit to SDA, along with scoring a total of $110 on the bounties on this game. Now that I think of it, that's about how much the DVD recorder I was looking at costs lol. Anyways, it's moreover the glory than the money I'm really aiming for. As for today's practice run, there's still a lot of shortcuts I need to master. Died a lot trying the shortcut on Kamella's Airship Attack and (sadly enough) Rolling Green Galaxy. Like I say too often, the more practice the better. I got a Game Over attempting the shortcut on Matter Splatter Mansion, ending my time at 1:49:56 (I had barely over 30 stars at this point). Surprisingly, it wasn't not all that tiring, but it is worrisome to try to make as few mistakes as possible all while being as fast as you can.
On a financial note, I seem to have hit a standstill. I never go over $2200 - It seems that by the time I get every paycheck, I'll be at a high 1600, then get boosted to just under 2300, and repeat the process over and over again. I'm gonna try and spend less money on food among other things and see if I can start making a profit again. I know college is gonna rape my bank hard, so I figure it's better if I can just save up as much as possible before then, but it seems like I'm officially stuck...After the DVD recorder fiasco, maybe I should try learning how to cook. XD
