What have I been doing...
...the past few weeks. Well, were to start. Time is flying by like a rollercoaster. Work has been superbusy and stressful as I'm still working on temp basis and my extension came through pretty late this time. But apart from that I'm really enjoying it. That is somewhat of a novelty since I used to equate work with making a living, void of ambition or perspective. Music was always my main drive and it still is.
As far as my band goes: we finally decided on a name. From now on we will be known as tafkab, the artists formally known as backbonobo. Well not really, we named ourselves Fat White Bunny, after one of our songs. It has a nice ring to it and is not too serious either. Our music is moving more into the uptempo dance direction. It's good to have somewhat of a focus as our previous stuff is all over the place. On the other hand it's tricky not to repeat ourselves too much.
As for my own projects, I've started to work on some new material. Previously I just made material for my livesets, which was all pretty crude. Lately I've been trying to make whole tracks again. I had to get used to it at first but after a while I enjoyed working on just one track again. Once I'll get something done I'll put it online.
I also have a set prepared for this weekend. It's only a small squathouseparty for a bunch of people I barely know. My sister's boyfriend is throwing it
and he was very happy when I offered to do a live set. We'll see how that one goes.
As I'm reading this post I'm starting to wonder if there's anything else happening in my life besides work and music. Hmmm, well the usual stuff like going out with friends a lot and table tennis competition (which is going really good, as I've won 9 out of 12 matches thus far). Then there's the precious one who's just living too far away at the moment...
Plenty of stuff going on, no wonder time flies by.
