It's funny what offends some people...

That this is essentially a "bonsia kittens" style trolling of feminists, instead of cat lovers:

It has offended certain puffed-up individuals who apparently accepted this on face value.
Have a look at the "bonsai kitten" website for something that is equally as silly, improbable and obviously (to any-one with a hint of brains) fake.

My analysis of the "branded leg adverts":
The main problem is that the images which accompany the article just don't tally up.
We're told in the article that park benches have been modified to burn an advertising stamp into the legs of people who sit on them and then there is another "result" picture (presumably, as there is no other caption) which shows two perfect brands, which are perfectly centred and legible on the backs of a model's legs.
The shape and design of the alleged brands do not match the design shown carved into the bench: there's an extra raised edge around the design and the repeating design on the bench slat wasn't branded into the model's legs.
The "result" image looked way too nice and clean to be even slightly convincing (at least to me).

My conclusion:
I suspect that the real campaign is to get self-identifying "moral guardians" to be outraged and spread the word about how evil it is that women could be exploited by branding an advertising slogan into them.
The irony is that it these self-same "moral guardians" are using their (apparent) outrage to spread the marketing message further than it might have otherwise gone.

Why the outrage?
Two main reasons which spring to mind:
1) It must be truly frustrating to have been suckered into spreading the marketing word.
2) to have some-one who's pretty much a disinterested third party (me)  point out the facts in a rather blunt fashion.
