Finally I feel that I...

...belong here.

I'm taking a break - yes, you read that right, at 8:51 AM I am taking a *break*.  The electrician said (I thought) he'd *be* here at 7am, but he may have meant he'd *start* at 7am, or maybe he just slept in.  I'd guess he has to go to Home Depot to get the subpanel, the conduit and other assorted items to do the electric job.

So I was up at 7am, took the dogs out (who were a bit weirded out at all the strange changes in the backyard - leaves piled into huge drifts, places where the ground was bare, the 8x8 square with the sand around it, and the missing "patio."  The landscaper (who I've now determined is from some Western European country and has another guy who works with him) offered to haul away the rotted wood platform next to the house - and I rejoiced!  I had been trying to figure out what to do with it, and now it's taken care of!  Underneath, there was a foot and a half wide (maybe, maybe less?) concrete walkway that went about halfway across that back corner, but stopped a few feet before the bulkhead.  It was buried under dirt.  This is perfect - the electrician doesn't have to break up or go under any concrete, but I also have more of a paved path, and all it'll take to finish it is some more stones to make a path after it's done that lead directly to the back porch door.

Both my bicycle and scooter are safely locked in the shed, where they will be safe from winter's weather and out of my way in the house.  I'm considering hanging the bicycle up in the cellar, but have to look into that one.  I'm finally learning to prioritize.

My car - MY CAR!!! Whee!  It's back from the shop, all fixed up, front and back.  oh my, it's all shiny and nice now.  I'm not detecting any problems with the handling or driving, so I'm pretty sure they were right - no permanent damage to the drivetrain from that hit on the left rear wheel.  I wish my body could just go into the shop and come out done a month later like that!   I'm ready for winter now.

The lanscaper will come today to finish the job (the sunlight leaves so early!) and lay down the panels under the spa.  It's a pretty ingenious design, and with all the nice leveled sand and the frame, it's going to fit beautifully.  When I stopped by the spa store to pick them up, the store owner verified what I thought I'd remembered - I have a set of steps to go with it, as well as the cover, and I also got the cover frame (having had it and not had it - homes 1 and 2, I will never get another hot tub without that frame thing to lift and pull aside the cover.   My rubber ducky thermometer is just waiting for that water to float in, too. :)

My day - it is now complete.  I just signed for a package from Fed Ex ground.  Have I mentioned I love Fed Ex ground?  I've had just about everything sent that way get to my house *early*.   Hint - it comes in a big ass box, weighs 65 pounds, and for some reason my copy of Ableton Live just wants to sit on top of it.

My desire to finish my studio just went up about fifty notches.  I will find a camera and post pics later.  Can you say 500G x 4 drives? I can.  :D

My spending is now complete, and I have all that I want.  Except some paint and a bunch of work.  :)

Christmas and my birthday are now complete.
I'm going to go hug my computer box again.  mmmmm Mac Pro.  Mmmmmmmm...(I'm a geek.  Secret's out - qu'une surprise!)

Very merry holidays to all.
