...and boy, is it shweet.
I'm happy with this one - it's the first thing I've done with all the recording I've been doing at the Cantab in the last (almost) year. Most of it was recorded in April, when I moved to the new microphone. Since we have the band directly upstairs from the stage, you used to get a lot of bleed-through from upstairs (the bass). I moved to a different AKG mic (I tried an EV model first that I was *not* happy with at all) and it works much MUCH better. Although you have to get closer to the mic now, it's much better because you aren't getting the bleed-through, either.
So, this is the information:
Excuse Me If I Stand
poems from the 2008 Cantab Slam Team
1. April Ranger -- Working Man's Tongue
2. Omoizele Okoawo -- Bruisegiver
3. Harlym125 -- Poem My Wife Has Been Waiting For
4. Brian S. Ellis -- Cesarean
5. Simone Beaubien -- One-Watt Lover
If you aren't coming out to the Cantab any time soon and want a copy, they're $5 (for five poems, a buck a poem), let me know, and I can get you one. I'm really happy with the way it turned out, and I'm learning more every time I do something like this. These are things I probably would have learned if I'd stayed in school and taken the live sound classes, etc, but I'm really enjoying learning as I go.
