WANTED: One Clockwork Assistant

Hours/Week: 2 - 10 (negotiable)
General: Assist Booking Manager & Publicity director (namely, Emmett) in scheduling, booking, promotions and appearances of The Clockwork Cabaret, the nation’s only weekly steampunk music radio show/podcast, through traditional and new media outlets.
Specific: Answer telephone during 2 hour broadcast (Monday 11pm - 1am), Communicate (verbal and written) with internal and external partners regarding publicity partnerships, deadlines, creative endeavors, etc. Assist in monitoring project progress and report to booking manager as necessary. Additional projects may include photo editing, copywriting, graphic design, street team coordination, etc.
Learning Objectives:
The intern will gain a working and theoretical knowledge of the various assets of a regional-level radio show and how they have managed to grow the program's critical acclaim and popular appeal. The creative process of generating a quality episode is only one aspect of creating a great radio show and must be supported by a backbone of organization and communication with the public and press. Learning to balance the creative and administrative demands is one of the most challenging aspects of growing a music industry career. The administrative intern will experience this first hand.
Qualifications:
* Impeccable written and verbal communication skills
* A knowledge of proper telephone etiquette
* A working understanding of the steampunk aesthetic and some familiarity with The Clockwork Cabaret (For more information, visit www.clockworkcabaret.com)
* An understanding of social media outlets (Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, etc)
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office/Open Office
* Familiarity with Google applications (Documents, Calendar, Voice, Gmail, etc.)
Not necessary qualifications, but would be a plus:
* Basic Graphic design skills
* Basic web editing knowledge
* Basic sound engineering knowledge
We will put you to work doing actual radio show business. Come prepared to work hard and learn fast. This internship could potentially grow into a paid management/publicist position.
