2012..... Yup, we're all gonna DIE! *SPOILERS!!!*
NAH i'm not gonna go all "OMG WE ARE GONNA DIE BECAUSE OF 2012"!! xD I just finished watching "2012" not that long ago. the movies was ok, I'm not a huge fan of those types of movies, but i will give it credit. if you wanna read the spoilers, highlight the white area below
*WARNING! SPOILER ALERT!! WARNING!!*
now here's the skinny: some scientist named Adrian Helmsley was doing studies in India and notices something wrong going on with the solar flares from the sun. The scientist's friend said that these flares are now causing physical damages to the Earth, I.E.: melting the Earth's core (which is something that bugs me. The type of solar flare that could do that to the core would equal to about 100 BILLION atomic bombs.... so wouldn't we just get fried instead of being crushed by building or falling into big fissure?") anyway, the big wigs in Washington D.C. are having some party where the scientist tell someone there about what is happening. jump to 2010, it turns out that the worlds leaders have prepare for that day and has built FUCKING ARKS and you can buy a ticket for 1 BILLION EUROS! (roughly 1.4 billion U.S. Dollars) then.... THE TITLE SCREEN!!! yup all this just to build up to the title screen
we jump to 2012, and we meet our main character Jackson Curtis who is a writer of some book and he goes to visit his kids and his ex-wife, Kate, and her new boyfriend. blah blah blah skip ahead skip ahead... Jackson notices the the massive earthquakes and fissures and calls his family to get them out of the house. he's wife thinks he's just going crazy until they get hit by the earthquakes (i just wanna point out that before Curtis called, the family was watching the news with a really funny, yet poor excuse of a curtain Californian Governor. LOLZ xD ) anyway, THE ACTION BEGINS when Curtis had to drive his family out the city to an airport while buildings are falling on top of them and cracks forming everywhere! there's one part where he drove the car THROUGH A BUILDING WHILE IT'S STILL COLLAPSING!! they managed to reach the plane and flow out of the destroyed city. next they landed in Yellowstone national park and met up with this crazy hippy guy named Charlie who knows a lot about the doomsday. Charlie gives Curtis a map to the Arks, but then UH OH! MORE MAYHEM!! Yellowstone is now ONE BIG ASS VOLCANO! Charlie, being the crazy hippy that he is, stays behind and watches the beauty that is the end of the world (I'll admit i liked that character). when Curtis opens the map to the Arks, it turns out that the Arks ARE IN CHINA!! and now begins a journey to China to find the Arks...

and that's the first half of the movie, as the story moves on, they meet new character alone the way. for full details, go watch the movie or be lazy and wiki that movie. as i said, it was a good movie, there are a lot of tear jerking moments so prepare to shed a tear or two. and don't get so worked up about the real 2012. remember Y2K or 06/06/06?
