Boldly going to a talk. London Film & Comic Con 2010

Jul 18, 2010 23:49

Well today was a gloriously geeky day. Arrived at LFCC a bit later than planned and missed most of londongqmfs but then found some of them again later on. All of us were there to meet the legend that is William Shatner either for an autograph, photo, or talk, or maybe all of them. It was a little chaotic. You can imagine the crowds. The talk was a bit chaotic - we had to wait for extra chairs to be found and I hear the photo queue numbering went squiffy which can be a bit stressful for all involved. I am glad I did not opt for that. I have only ever done one photo op before and didn't really enjoy it. Myself and missy_manic queued early for the William Shatner talk despite not really needing to because the ticket no = chair no. And we got great seats. And found ourselves next to another londongqmfs / ontd_startrek members who took our names for a write up - that is what I call dedication! :) Once the talk started it was great. Shatner was entertaining, I was amused by his squeeky "Khaaan" In response to a request by one fan to do the "KHHHAN!" line from Star Trek II. And he has so many projects on the go I don't know where he gets his energy from. The down side was it was over way too quickly.

*grin* yay! Captain Shatner :)

It felt busier this year than last. I loved the Evil Ex Scott Pilgrim posters hanging from the walls,

Predictable aren't I?

There was a great DC Comics 75 Years Stall which I had no idea till I saw it - had on display Daily Planet front page papers from the Reeve movies. That was a great surprise :D I wanted to take those home with me but they were not for sale :( I did buy a Reeve Superman painting postcard from a different stall though :)

Thanks as ever to missy_manic for taking the snaps :)
