Photos taken last week at Bekonscot Model Village, Beaconsfield.
This is *not* a Hot Fuzz filming location but the pub we went to in the same town later that day is. (see next journal post) but this trip was inspired by the inclusion of an action fight scene in the movie that takes place in a model village so cue lots of references to the movie in ( Read more... )

I used to go to the model village quite a lot when I was younger. Haven't been there for years now though. When I first saw "Hot Fuzz" It reminded me of going there.

Me too actually, I grew up about 40 mins away near Aylesbury, Bucks :) My parents still live there so I go back that way still when I see them :)

When my brother and sister were really young we took them there all the time. I feel like I want to go back there now.

Wow...as I was telling a Brit friend of mine, we don't really have these in the States. Well we do but they are rather marginalized. I can't think of a single one in the whole state of Florida, for instance. So to me this is strange and wonderous! Thank you! What a great post!

Your welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed the photos :D This is apparently the only one in the UK according to the sign at the entrance. At least one that is of a significant size and open to the public. It's run for charity and is great for kids (and adults still in touch with their inner child!). On the sign it said it was a member of some kind of 'model village society' that included others in Europe - there is apparently one in Germany, and Norway as well!

There's one in Epcot, with a massive train layout. We like to stand in front of it and make up terrible stories about the tiny people.
