I'm thinking of buying some books in the 3 for 2 offer currently at Borders on American literature.
So from this selection - what would people on my f-list recommend? Suggestions are welcome :)

Tales of the City by Armistead Maupin
Plot Against America by Philip Roth
Autobiography of Malcolm X
King of the World by David Remnick
Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison
The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Michael Chabon
Motel Life by Willy Vlautin
The Yellow Wallpaper and Selected Writings by Charlotte Perkins
... so am not looking to buy the above. But there's plenty of others on the list on the link. Which should I get?
