Yesterday was a wonderful day indeed! As many of you know, one of my goals with moving back to Texas was to be closer to my family, part of that included rebuilding the strained relationship between them and myself. Yesterday was a big part of that I think. Granted it wasn't the humongous dinner of my younger years but it was still great to be able to spend it with my family. We spoke of times past and things about when me and my sisters were younger, etc. It was very nice. Afterwards, we went out to the family property for a few hours and got to spend more time with my parents and sisters.
There's only one thing that could have made yesterday better and that's to have had my beautiful Ari with me. My great Aunt and Uncle met her at my Dad's 60th birthday party and they both not only remembered her, but remembered her name, something with their, ahem, old age, is impressive and were asking me why I didn't invite her to Thanksgiving with me, something, I wish we could have done.
It's times like these that make me remember to appreciate the people in my life and the people that love me and that I love and to be thankful for them being in my life. We all should be so lucky and I hope anyone who's reading this is that lucky. So, if you haven't told the people in your life how much they mean to you lately, be sure to do so.
Thanks to all my wonderful friends for being my friends and thanks to my amazing family for putting up with all my quirks over the years but still never ceasing to love me and, thanks to my Ari, for believing in me when others wouldn't and for being the wonderful, beautiful, caring and, spectacular girl a guy like me could ever hope to have.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone
