Yep, it was a nice calm weekend. Didn't really do much of anything. I think the gusto of going out in L.A. has worn off a bit. Don't get me wrong, it's fun, but I have more important things to do than go out every friday and get drunk as a skunk.
Friday night I stayed home, watched some Southpark, did some super secret classified work which I'll tell you all mroe of when the time is right. After that, when my other roomies crashed out, I loaded up Gears of War on my 360 and started playing. Got all the way from the end of Act 1 to somewhere in Act 4 before I got sick of being killed by a Berserker and decided it was time for bed.
Slept in a bit Saturday morning as last week was a long and ardous week at Midway and I needed rest. Left the house with the roomies at 12pm and headed out to the mountains. We went to this mountain range that is between the ocean and where we live. What was so amazing was when we got to the peak and looked out, we were looking at the Pacific and below us was Malibou. I can't begin to describe how gorgeous it was. I also now know exactly how out of shape I am. I was huffin and a puffin by the time we reached the summit. The cool thing though is that me and the roomies agreed it would do us all a hell of allot of good to start making that trek every weekend. The range is only 30 minutes from the house and it's a great way to spend a Saturday!
After hiking in the mountains we headed down into Malibou and went out on the beach. Now tyhis was one of the beaches further west so it was somewhat rocky and due to the rocks, contained tide pools! We went rumaging around through the rocks and found all manner of kickass sealife like Anenomeas, some little fish, Sea Slugs and, TONS of starfish! We were just blown away by the number of them we found. We even found some crabs, not hermit crabs, but actual crabs, they were only babies but they were awesome! We watched the surfers for a bit and then I found this gigantic bunching of clams! They were all attached to a rock and just chillin there. after that we headed back to the house where Kirk's buddy from Houston who came into visit cooked up some hella good steaks. They was certainly tasty.
Sunday, everyone went fishin 'cept me cause I couldn't afford the boat this time around. So I spent the day at the house and watched movies and then played some more Gears of War. Got to the end of Act 4 and the beginning of Act 5. after dinner we started to watch a movie but everyone decided to go to the movies. I decided I would stay home and shortly after, crashed out. All in all it was a good weekend.
Hope everyone else's weekend was great!
