stabbed in the head

I slept some hours when I got home from work this morning, and then got up early, showered, and caught the train to the University this afternoon for a free screening of Heima the Sigur Rós film, with free popcorn even! I met up with nerf and it was off to a small dark room with less than 20 people in attendance. Everyone sitting on a variety of couches with a professional sound-system and the film projected onto a screen. We huddled on a little love-seat and it was very beautiful and beyond inspiring. I loved the stories of some of their homemade percussion instruments-like a Marimba made out of sticks from a 100 year old rhubarb patch. What an amazing show they put on. I won't want to listen to anything else for days. And they talked about the family you become with your band-mates, like losing your heart to your best friend over and over.

I'm very grateful that work is finally done. I was supervising last night, that and the 3 nights at work before it just blurred and dragged. Everything from this fight we broke up my hand was sore for a night, and it all happened so fast it was only afterwards that we realized he had actually been holding a weapon. We had a woman go into labor; 911 operator: "Can you see any of the baby?" Me: "We're not there yet but she's lost her mucous plug." ugh Or the dude who came in who'd been stabbed in the head. No really say that with me, stabbed in the head! I could go on I mean -35c the other night? Blow me.

But it's over and the soothing strains of Sigur Rós were the best beginning to a rotation off ever.
