I don't know if I agree about the animosity that always occurs, I mean sure there's bickering and fighting and stuff but it's working through that sometimes that brings you closer together.
I'm glad that you're enjoying the single life well enough.
I agree kind of with what your friend said. Most girls are out looking to get hurt, or maybe some of us are just out looking for something that we're expecting to happen. It's also the whole if you find a bad boy it takes the right girl to make him good, I've seen some girls attracted in that fashion, 'cause they think they can help. All in all there are girls out there who have been hurt enough and are looking for someone to treat them the way they deserve to be treated, like ladies. Just keep in it and I'm sure you'll find someone special.
You can't change people opinions completely by words, sometimes you just have to do what you do and eventually your actions might change them. Like you said, you can't make everyone happy. Besides everyone makes mistakes, every one screws something up, hurts someone else pretty bad. But it's not always how you screw up, it's sometimes about how you pick yourself up afterwards that shows/says what kind of person you are.
You won't be forgotten. You've got friends who will remember you. Hang in there, and enjoy your summer. ^_^
