I may have re-edited a few times - this is what happens when I have to engage brain this early. It takes a while to warm up. I am not a morning person.
Admittedly reform gigs can be very hit and miss. Some I've been to have been awesome (Bauhaus for example), some I've been to have been a bit naff (naming no names really).
I really enjoyed Bauhaus, but then I'd never seen them live before.
I remember seeing the Siouxsie reunion show and thought they were better as The Creatures. It was entertaining enough, but I expected a lot more.
I enjoyed The Mission reunion show, again having never seen them before, but further voyages to see them were met with varying degrees of boredom and general levels of meh.
The Chameleons reunion show was disappointing because they decided to play a lot of new material which was all a bit meh. It wasn't until the encore where they actually let loose with the old stuff. I recall I was more entertained by TV Smith who they had dug up to do support.
PWEI was probably quite good, however I had a nasty experience upstairs with all the piss heads present which kinda ruined it for me.
Can't think of any other reunion shows I've been to off the top of my head...
I hadn't seen Bauhaus either. I dunno. It just wasn't what I was hoping for, I guess. It seemed kind of irrelevant and forced. I think I perhaps had too much of an expectation from listening to "Press the Eject and Give Me The Tape"... :) Maybe it's an age thing to some extent - there's just nothing particularly appealing about seeing a podgy balding Peter Murphy camp it up with a feather - it feels a bit undignified - whereas the same Peter Murphy in his early 20s can more than get away it. Ageist? Me? Probably.
I didn't bother with the Banshees reunion but I did very much enjoy the Creatures gigs that I saw circa "Anima Animus".
I've seen The Mission a few times at various points in their career (not when they were actually popular, mind) and always found them underwhelming.
(Don't get me wrong, I love FNM, but now? What's the point?)

As in, your lack of faith in Faith No More.
Oh, whatever.
What's the point in seeing any band? To see the songs you love played live presumably.
Admittedly the sloth in me is saying "just go and see them when they play London".

Pop Will Eat Itself a couple of years ago are the only band I can think of that did it well.

However I shall obtain some of their material and give them a listen first, but I am fully expecting them to sound like My Chemical Romance.
