Ugh. Cleaning and Driving.
I have spent all morning cleaning the house. It looks pretty good now. I still have to do some things in the basement, but I can do that later. And I have to do laundry, but I can't do it too quickly because the sink that the washing machine drains into drains really slowly. And sometimes not at all.
I still have to pack for tomorrow. I'm driving from Maryland to Illinois this weekend. I will spend a week there and then I will drive to Missouri for another week. After that I will drive to Blacksburg, Virginia for a couple of days, then head back to Maryland. I'm not looking forward to the drive but it will be nice to see my relatives. I'm going to try especially hard to do fun things with my Grandfather and Aunt in Illinois (paternal relatives). My grandmother died about a month ago and I didn't make it to the memorial service--I feel kinda bad about that. But I did get to see her before she died, so I'm glad about that.
The books are mostly organized now. My organization is really strange. I'm not going alphabetically. Instead, I'm trying to group books by topic or related topics or research interests. So my Satanic Bible is right next to my Mormon bible and my Umburto Eco books are near my books on the history of the middle ages. I may organize my cds alphabetically. Well, some of them. My classical CDs I tend to organize chronologically. My favorite CDs are organized by the gender of the artist (or by the main singer) and the style of music). yes, I am a strange person. I'm especially strange because I'm writing about my strange organizational techniques.
