Spotlight
so it's my third year at the summer musical theater program at the mount...this year is different as all of them are. New director, mario, new music director, Kary, and Cara with dance too.
Broadway thru the decades, one song from the 1930's, 40s, thru 00's. It's good altho i hadn't heard more than 2 of the 8 songs before.
i kinda almost have a solo this year, well i sing with a quartet in blow gabriel blow from anything goes. Us "angels" (Reno's backup singers in a bad that went all gospel and saved) have a good time, but we've gotta blair these hard notes, but i really really like the song and it's the opening!
Had some good times...especially when we discovered weselley at lunch! This is the best little kid every and me, Jessie, and Ayla are in love with him. First day we saw him he was in rec for the little kids camp indoors cuz of rain...they were playing wink murderer, only the best game ever...naturally we wanted to play too, especially after spotting cute, chubby, bracefaced weselley in a spongebob shirt.
Sat down next to him the next day to play the game and he, being the awesome wink murderer detective he is smelled ayla's caesar salad right away. So everyday we miss him and call to him and put out candy dots for a trap so he'll come back.
Talking about Titanic one day, jessie, friend from camp, goes, "u know that part when they're in the back seat of that car and it's foggy and he's breathing really hard, well i was little and i turned to my mom and said, mommy mommy, is he dying?" well got a good laugh off of that...and then we were doing impressions of the hand smudge on the window (don't pretend u don't know what i'm talking about) and jessie cut her elbow on the window (which btw, is not a door, it's between the doors, altho ayla likes to try to walk thru it) so she had to use a batman bandaid.
Hmm what else funny happens in between Kary having us say, "eee i hate it" and us dancing and singing (or signing)...oh in what song there are 15 hoorays in a row...well mario was counting them off cuz the timing is hard and haley screamed 11!! after 10 other hoorays..then liz just went whoo!! after her. perhaps u had to be there for that one.
It's fun tho, i like it, a bunch of ppl from last year and cool new ppl too. Show on thursday should come together well.
Auditioned for Alexander today...it was actually fun, lots of spotlight kids to hang with.
So this week has been pretty good.
Yesterday after camp i went to kate's to watch morgan finish perfecting the wax on her car, then to swim, kate and emily tossed ariana really high and then emily was launched too, i however, kinda just flopped off hideously. Then we had a lovely game of taboo...and then a s'more frenzy after the fire finally started.
