January update - running and fitness

ok - am feeling like crap right now as have horrid head-cold, but realised that if I don't post this now, I'll forget to get around to it.

In January, I managed:

60k running
40k cycling (recliner bike)
3.5m swim

My longest run was 7.29k and my best week was w/c Jan 10th - 23.3k total for running.

This is pretty good as my aim was 60k/40k and I managed it.

On the down-side, I only did one weight-training session and 2 pilates classes due to shoulder being screwed.  It's getting better, but I'm not going to be able to do any weights 'til at lease the end of Feb.

My Feb target is now:

65k running
40k cycle
4k swim
8 pilates classes

I know that the running target is pretty harsh as Feb is shorter than Jan and I only just managed the 60k in Jan, but I figure I'll try for it anyway.  I want to up my runs to 7/1 pattern (Jan was 6/1) and try to average 6.5k per run.  As I'm not doing early morning weight-training, I'll try for some early morning runs instead .

I also want to try a clean diet for a week - no starches at all and no added sugar in anything.  It's really horrid for the first few days, but after that, my body feels much better and I then go back to eating starch-carbs once or twice a week.  I'd start it today, but what with head-cold-gruriness I'm giving my body a treat of take-out...
